OUR BEGINNING, AS ALUMNI

Water Warriors began in 2013, shortly after its co-founders graduated from University of Malaya (UM). We wanted to give back to the a place we're happy to call our own backyard, the University. The first challenge that we were inspired to overcome was to revive the heart of UM, Tasek Varsiti.

FROM BOTTOM UP, LITTLE BY LITTLE

From just volunteers, our efforts were soon recognized by the University. Water Warriors was then upgraded into a Living Lab project, giving us more opportunities to collaborate with researchers, development staffs and student volunteers. We began to look into other water bodies protection in campus and to provide solution for water consumption reduction.

LARGER COMMUNITY, OUR WATERSHED

University of Malaya is part of larger watershed which includes Klang River. Our current efforts also look into ways to collaborate with our surrounding communities beyond the University.

Amin was a former staff and has a Master in Science, Technology and Sustainability. Nowadays he occasionally pops in with corn and mango from his village, bringing much delight to our grumbling tummies. You will most probably find yourself laughing whenever he's around.
